Good-Bye and Hello

July 11, 2008

One sad little girl. Two well-loved bunnies. A sad family good-bye at the airport. After saying good-bye, the kids and I got on the road. Spent one night in Pensacola visiting with the Hess family (always good for our spirits!) and arrived in Louisiana the next day. We are slowly getting settled, visiting family, getting library cards, and missing Adam. Hard to believe our first week here is almost done.

Why does military life have to be so hard? Not that PC has been gone as long as Adam will be, but I always find that the first week is really hard to get through, and then it gets a little easier. After a month or so things just start to feel "normal" and the days slowly tick by. I hope you guys find comfort real soon and while there is still a long road ahead, in my opinion the worst/hardest part is over. Have a fantastic summer with your family!! Let me know if you ever need anything from Japan to cheer you up!

What an adorable, sweet photo. I'm sorry it was taken at such a sad time. It must be nice to be with your family though. Enjoy Louisiana! You'll have to let me know when you will be back in FL. I still have stuff to mail to you, but you're never in one place long enough to receive a package! :) We love you guys and miss you.

I hope this deployment goes by quickly for all of you. I can't imagine how difficult it must be. Hope the kids are doing well and that you'll all enjoy some time with your family.

That picture is killing me. I think that as much as we miss our husbands (and of course, it is a LOT), it's so hard to see our children missing their dad. I'm so glad she'll have family around to love her (and you!) while he's gone :)

What a heart-breaking, beautiful portrait. It speaks volumes. I know I'm way behind on your blog, but I've been thinking of you and your family in this big change and praying the time will go swiftly, especially for your children. I'm glad you'll have plenty of family about to buoy you up and keep you busy.
