Sevilla

December 4, 2010

An intoxicating mix of cultures, super saturated colors, meandering streets, tempting tastes, secret courtyards, nuns selling cookies, and sunny days. We loved Sevilla and November seemed to be a perfect time for visiting.

Beautiful photos! Sounds like a really nice trip. Its funny, two of our close family friends here went to Sevilla in November and loved it too! Actually my husband and I have been talking about taking a long weekend in Feb for a Valentines treat and going to Sevilla. neither of us has ever been there.
I did try some delicious cookies brought by one friend, which were made by cloistered nuns, maybe its the same place you mentioned?!
Happy Hanukkah to you and your family!

YES! Go to Sevilla for Valentine's Day...wander those streets hand in hand, sip hot chocolate, and stay up late watching Flamenco dancers...I'll send you the name of a great bar. And yes, those cookies are probably made by the same cloistered nuns. They bake them and put them through a hole in the wall for sale.

Oh--I have always wanted to go to Seville!

I am still savoring your posts one by one, but I decided I better start catching up to 'real time' posts as well, lol!

Looking forward to hearing more...

I know the author of under the Tuscan Sun wrote a book about her travels and mentioned how wonderful Sevilla is. Lovely!

Yes, you are right....I happened to read that book (A Year in The World) right before we took our trip to Spain and I especially loved that chapter on Sevilla.

I love Seville and (kind of) live here! November is a beautiful time to visit. July & August are far too hot and December can sometimes be a washout. Glad you enjoyed it so much.

I spent three weeks in Spain a few years ago and I'm so sad we didn't make it to Sevilla. Love these photos!

Clearly I am so behind on the blog reading, but my younger brother lived in Sevilla for a semester a couple of years ago and LOVED LOVED LOVED it. I think he'd move back permanently :)
