Preparing to Launch
June 11, 2009 • mud buc
This is one of our favorite spots: the county dock just a couple of blocks from our house. A good spot for sunsets, enjoying the river, and spotting wildlife (we saw our first manatee here one night). I will miss it. Starting to become very aware of what we are getting ready to leave behind and what is ahead. Entering that liminal stage of betwixt and between two places. Tomorrow we will drop our van off. They will load it on a ship and it will hopefully be waiting for us when we arrive in Sicily. We will then head over to the Space Coast in hopes of watching this weekend's Space Shuttle launch.

so jealous! Best of luck catching a lunch. I saw one back in my working days (was in Orlando for a conference). I was AWESOME!
Good Luck with your move!
Can't wait for you all to land over here:)!
I remember this feeling about this time last year when we made our move up here... bittersweet in so many ways!
Hope you get to see the launch... that is a dream!
oh, that in-between time is so difficult! i remember very well...thankfully ours didn't last too long. good luck, good luck, good luck!
thanks, by the way for the lovely comment on our blog! yes, mothering is definitely a twisty-turny adventure.
i've been reading through your archives and am now pulling myself away from the computer for the night, but first wanted to say that i've noticed all sorts of random similarities between us, the most surprising being that in college i spent three summers cleaning cabins at a guest ranch in colorado (mine was vista verde in steamboat springs)! too funny.
Uh, dont let Nathan catch wind of your weekend plans- he will be so jealous and I'll hear about it from now until eternity. ;)
i love this photo of the dock!
What a great spot!
I also want to let you know that I gave you 'One Lovely Blog Award'
