Spring is here. The fields and roadsides continue to amaze with their color drenched goodness. The birds are chirping. The sun is shining. The girls picked a ton of wildflowers last week which are now brightening up our kitchen.
And I am sick in bed today with a nasty bug that I hope disappears as quickly as it appeared. It's never fun to be sick, but it really sucks to be sick when Spring is beckoning right outside your window. Sipping ginger ale, taking cat naps, yearning to be outside, reading and enjoying Olive Kitteridge, making lists in my head of all the things I need to do before my mom arrives at the end of the week and another list of all the things I want to do with her once she arrives, and really, really hoping no one else in the house gets sick.

Wow! What amazing photos! Beautiful.
Fields of wildflowers?? Oh man, that's certainly not something we have in our immediate area. :) Beautiful, and I'm happy that you all are enjoying the wonders of spring. Now, here's hoping for a quick recovery for you!
Hope you feel better and come chat about Olive tomorrow at my house. I enjoyed it--but I also felt sad--a little too dark/lonely for me...
my mom is arriving at the end of the week too! and instead of me, I have 2 little sick girls. so hoping they recover by Thursday. Hope you do too!!
I'm glad you're mom is arriving, and hope you feel better soon and no one else in your family gets sick. I've never seen Sicily in its green season, it must be beautiful.
I recently read that book (well, not so recently that I remember it all) but I did like how the story unfolded, a bit unusual. Sicily in Spring is def. magical. I used to carry clippers in the trunk of my car just so I could gather up wild flower bouquets! We should know are Sicily plans in the next week or so. Keep your fingers tightly crossed it works out!!
I hope you feel better soon. Lucky you! Spring seems to be alluding us with snowflakes that swirled around our heads yesterday. Pretty strange for the south.
Can totally relate! Spring is bursting with its glorious zest of flowers and I cannot think of food or smells. After the first two children fell ill over the weekend, Monday came my turn, keeping water down is difficult let alone toast... three days later and I am starting to see the light, may even have a cup of tea. I hope that you are feeling better and that the rest of your family are staying well. Enjoy the visit with your mother!
I hope you're back to snuff completely now. The photos of flower picking make me smiley.
We must have shared the same week! Last week was the first sunny & warm weather week in months, and we were all home sick. Let's just say I'm glad things are back to normal now. Wonderful photos!
