One of the first stops on our weekend adventure was Villa Palagonia in Bagheria. A very ornate and creepy Baroque villa with an equal mix of decay and decadence. We were the only ones there which was perfect since we were traveling with friends and had a total of six children between the ages of 9 and 1. The kids were able to run through the gardens and create some drama with their voices in the Hall of Mirrors without disturbing anyone except perhaps some of the ghosts from the glory (or should I say gory) days of the Villa.
