Istanbul: The Blue Mosque, The Grand Bazarre, our first delicious taste of sahlep during a chilly night walk, daily life in the neighborhood surrounding our little apartment, The Cistern with this cool exhibit, a fun seafood dinner on this little street, the resonating prayer calls, and this beautiful green door. A city bursting with life, history, extreme sensory adventures and we only experienced a tiny slice of it.

So how hard is it for you to pick just three photos? :)
That drink sounds yummy, a lot like athol, except in Latin America they use corn starch to thicken the milk. I love that you were able to stay in an apartments in a neighborhood. If I ever become a world-traveler I'll be sure to do that! :)
I am such a sucker for travel pictures and you are hitting the spot! The photo of the lady with the quilt and the clothes line - perfection!
WOW! that's all - just wow!
The first picture looks like a morph of La Mezquita (the Mosque) in Cordoba, Spain and a Catholic Church! Love the architecture and the stained glass.
The drink reminds me of the Mexican beverage Atole. It's a hot milk drink with ground corn meal and cinnamon. Yummy!
Gorgeous! I have always wanted to go inside a mosque, but have not had the opportunity. The one in Jerusalem is closed off to none Muslims. I love the architechture. So stunning!
BEAUTIFUL pictures. Im jealous.
Great photos and great city! I love Istanbul, but haven't been since I had kids. Did your kids enjoy it? I'd love to hear more about your trip.
Great captures. I really like architecture shots but I must say the shot of the woman is perfect. Make me want to visit there.
I never get tired of beautiful doors. Your children in front of the green door add wonderful perspective and a whole lot of cute.
I like your little slice-of-life approach, and I especially loved the green door shot!
Sold. Amazing how a tiny item like clothespins can come out as such an interesting detail.
I love the firs picture. It's such an amazing building.
Fantastic photo, the woman and the clothesline, really mesmerizing. I'm so envious, Turkey is on my list!
Love, love love all the pictures! Fun to see you with Angie, Bill and family.
They're all fab, but I love that second shot. You must have a hard time picking out holiday card family pictures.
Sounds so wonderful. Your pictures are beautiful. I really appreciate the simplicity of your travel posts. With just a few words and pictures you paint a vivid picture.
