Istanbul: The Blue Mosque, The Grand Bazarre, our first delicious taste of sahlep during a chilly night walk, daily life in the neighborhood surrounding our little apartment, The Cistern with this cool exhibit, a fun seafood dinner on this little street, the resonating prayer calls, and this beautiful green door. A city bursting with life, history, extreme sensory adventures and we only experienced a tiny slice of it.

That drink sounds yummy, a lot like athol, except in Latin America they use corn starch to thicken the milk. I love that you were able to stay in an apartments in a neighborhood. If I ever become a world-traveler I'll be sure to do that! :)

The first picture looks like a morph of La Mezquita (the Mosque) in Cordoba, Spain and a Catholic Church! Love the architecture and the stained glass.
The drink reminds me of the Mexican beverage Atole. It's a hot milk drink with ground corn meal and cinnamon. Yummy!
Gorgeous! I have always wanted to go inside a mosque, but have not had the opportunity. The one in Jerusalem is closed off to none Muslims. I love the architechture. So stunning!
