1) Cut the end off one end of the egg cartons so you have nine candle holders. We used the cut off piece to add height for the Shamos. 
2) Tape the two cartons together.

Today was the first day of school. Noah eagerly hopped on the bus this morning and headed off for his first day of third grade. Camille hesitantly attended Kindergarten Orientation today. She's not sure about this whole kindergarten thing. We had a wonderful weekend on the beach which included the exciting opportunity to see the space shuttle launch, a night out with my book club friends, and lots of pool and beach time. We barely made it on two of our flights. They lost our car seat and I think I may have food poisoning from eating some sushi in the Munich airport. I just can't erase that birthday from three years ago.  It was the last time I ever heard his voice because  they took him off the ventilators for a brief period. He looked awful but  as the month progressed I realized in retrospect that it was one of his  strongest days. Only this time I was greeted with chirpy words plugging the "possible" benefits of family dinners. Sentences like this: "Families who eat together might have children who get better grades".
